My '98 backfires very frequently on throttle roll-off -- as when I shift gears. It seems to backfire more with the SuperTrapp pipe than it did with the stock pipe. I'm thinking of removing the spacer in the carb; any other ideas, anyone? At present, by the way, the bike still dies at intersections until the engine is hot; a high idle speed seems necessary to keep that to a minimum.
